Ah Fitzroy…. Our new home.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional owners of the Fitzroy area.

At the beginning of April LUPA was lucky enough to begin its journey onward and upward from it’s Northcote birthplace and heartland for over 12 years . We were very excited to be able to take over the site of the long loved and admired Queen Clothing store and with Christine Boyle’s blessing LUPA moved in.

Customers have been delighted that the Melbourne Made tradition has been continued at the site and they have warmly welcomed us into the neighborhood.

From its slummy origins earlier last century through its evolution to being one of Melbourne’s most dynamic, shopping and cultural precincts LUPA says thanks FITZROY we are happy to call you home…..

We would also like to wish Queen Clothing and its amazing designer Christine Boyle Bon Voyage with blessings from the whole Melbourne Made design community and we are only just a tiny bit jealous about the new life she will be forging in LAOS, send us a postcard Chris!!

'Cumulus' skirt in 100% silk
'Ballad' cropped top

Featuring dreamy silks, beautifully textured linens and fine cotton, the Spring/Summer collection from Stella Blanche invites you to celebrate the warmer weather in comfort, style and a state of joyful relaxation.

Combining bold stripes, floating silks and a brilliant array of colors, this collection will ensure you have the perfect thing to wear with everything as the seasons change.

This collection will feature during Melbourne Spring Fashion Week as part of the Made in Melbourne event - putting ethical and sustainable fashion on the catwalk  and giving us another reason to celebrate!

Chilly?

Keep warm this winter with these beautiful Alexi Freeman scarfs.

Christina Exie brings her avant-garde designs to LUPA and we are very happy.

We are excited to welcome designer Christina Exie into our LUPA stores. Launching in 2011 Exie has already enjoyed a stellar introduction to the land of Melbourne Made Design. Conceptually driven design, that translates broad themes such as gravity and water into tailored but fluid pieces giving each item a sense of intrigue whilst remaining accessible.  (you just want to put it on!)

It’s this juxtaposition of the avant-garde (a term commonly applied to the label) and the highly wearable fit and feel of each piece that makes her work so successful.

A graduate of RMIT fashion design and winner of Australian Project Runway’s fourth series the designer has earned her colours and collected a loving audience along the way.

Exie embraces new silhouettes each season that are beyond trend, light sand Ester swing coats with brilliant red linings finished with crimson tacking, or ankle length the Micah wool waist coats complete with awe inspiring French seaming also in red, making each piece as interesting on the inside as it is on the outside!

We are mad about fuchsia and magenta.

Melbourne's independent fashion designers are always thinking outside the box. We are very excited about Micky in the Van's use of the colour magenta.

Stella Blanche is a designer who is definitely not afraid to use colour. This top is our favourite shade of fuchsia.
Stella Blanche 'In Raptures' pure silk top $169
Stella Blanche silk belt $49
Micky in the Van 'La Robe Violetta' frock $149

Christina Exie's Eve Jacket is the perfect companion for Melbourne chilly weather mornings.

Independent fashion at its best with Stella Blanche, Sunday Morning and Minos.

Beautiful women on bikes with capes trailing behind them. Lovely ladies on the streets of Melbourne rocking ponchos. Capes and ponchos are this seasons black dress. Stella Blanche has designed this incredible piece. We have paired it with Minos' super versatile tube skirt. Both are designed and made in Melbourne. Pop into Northcote or Fitzroy and try them on.

Stella Blanche 'Emerald City' poncho - $209
Sunday Morning 'Sleeping Dog' tee - $85
Minos basic tube skirt - $88

Fool's 'Mixed Media' available at LUPA.

Our much beloved and long time friends at FOOL have created a smorgasbord of colour and texture in this seasons Knitwear range ‘Mixed Media’.

A symphonic clash of patterns including diamonds, checks and bubble blister knits for texture, the patterns are complex but the shapes are clear and simple, the perfect combination!

Rowena Doolan the brains and heart behind the Fool label, hand draws the patterns and then decides on the palette, this is then converted in to a file that the amazing knitting machines of her Brunswick manufacturers can comprehend and BAM the first sample is born. The design of each piece in the range is adjusted and refined until finally the pieces are produced in 100% pure wool. Making us the lucky recipients drool as they roll in the door. SUMPTUOS!

We can’t wait for ‘Block Party’ the summer knit range. It’s going to be in bright turquoise, greens and pinks in big and small checks (yes please!), so when its time to lighten up a little the soft cottons will be gracing the floor at LUPA.

APOM, Neo Dia, Kylie Jane and Tessa Blazey are this weeks LUPA picks.

Davina Adamson is mad about Melbourne designed and made fashion.
