Claire Best clogs and Lulu & Angel terrarium

Photo styled by Jana King

The terrariums from Lulu & Angel come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They are the perfect for the person who could destroy a Farmville plot. Each of these little beauties creates their own eco-system so there is no need to worry about over or under watering. Prices start at $44.

Claire Best is a shoemaker to watch. All of her creations are locally made in East Brunswick. Each shoe is designed, made and graded entirely by hand. This attention to detail breeds a wonderful collection of bespoke footwear. Show this emerging Melbourne designer some love and support. Bespoke clogs available in both of our shops.

Apply Chloe and Dominique, Ellinor Mazza and Andy Wolf to your blank canvas.

Everyday we wake up a blank canvas. Like any great work of art it's all about applying the right kind of paint. Accessories are my favourite kinda paint. When coupled with a cool vintage number or a pair of the beautiful corals from Brkich.  They are always the finishing touch to a fantastic outfit.

The range of accessories from Chloe and Dominique capture the bright yellows and warm reds of the Australian summer. Ellinor Mazza's handmade hoops and earrings are reasonably priced and super beautiful. With these psychedelic sunglass from Andy Wolf you will always see the world through rose coloured glasses.

All of these delights are available at LUPA.

We've had a baby and it's our new label.

1950's curves are in for Hutchinson's 2013 swim wear collection 'Final Spin'

Tanya Hutchinson is one of 5 daughters, so she understands the diversity of shape and the line of the female form. After working in accessories for over 15 years Hutchinson developed a taste for happy clashes of pattern and colour. She has transformed her love of feminine diversity, colour and chaos into harmonic unity.

‘Final Spin’ refers to a love of all things 1950's from music to fashion and is a glorious cacophony of swimwear designed to celebrate the va va voom of all you curvy ladies!

The swim suits feature remnants from Rod Stewarts costumiers studio leopard skin and shimmering gold to sweet floral’s and seaside stripes, its an all-sorts line up to sift through until you find the combo you love.

All the tops are reversible and the sizing is comprehensive with varied top and bottom sizing so you are sure to find the mix that is right for you.

Hutchinson has also provided mixture of fabric tensions to allow comfort where its required and a little control where it is also necessary. Bather sets are $154 and made in Fairfield!

I Punched A Bear

Designer Maggie Aitken of our awesome new and edgy up-cycled kids range has taken inspiration from both her own childhood and that of her young son to create the label 'I Punched a Bear".

Maggie remembers making outfits for her teddy bears out of old clothes and scrap materials, now with her own living teddy bear she has come full circle taking into account the practical aspect of kids wear from ease of use to durability. Aitken attempts to use the whole garment in the process of transformation making existing pockets and zips features and creating almost no waste.

And well, as for the name…..here I quote "One time when I was six, a bear jumped out from a tree so I punched it in the nose" from the designers lips herself, seriously tough and cute just like the clothes.

Clothing as diverse as our customers

At LUPA we carry a massive selection of Melbourne made fashion for our diverse and wonderful customers. Our stock is constantly being updated with a wide range of locally designed styles and trends. No two designers are the same just like no two women are the same.

During our last photo shoot we decided to have a bit of fun. The challenge, create two separate looks with the same clothes. We armed ‘Queen Bee’ Davina Adamson and our Digital Manager Lei-Lani Terrell with clothing from Fool, Neo Dia and Parrot Says. The main stars of the day were laughter, the beautiful Krystyn and Linda our photographer. In the end the challenge didn’t prove too challenging for our lovely ladies.

We hope you enjoy these looks as much as we enjoyed putting them together.

Ah Fitzroy…. Our new home.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional owners of the Fitzroy area.

At the beginning of April LUPA was lucky enough to begin its journey onward and upward from it’s Northcote birthplace and heartland for over 12 years . We were very excited to be able to take over the site of the long loved and admired Queen Clothing store and with Christine Boyle’s blessing LUPA moved in.

Customers have been delighted that the Melbourne Made tradition has been continued at the site and they have warmly welcomed us into the neighborhood.

From its slummy origins earlier last century through its evolution to being one of Melbourne’s most dynamic, shopping and cultural precincts LUPA says thanks FITZROY we are happy to call you home…..

We would also like to wish Queen Clothing and its amazing designer Christine Boyle Bon Voyage with blessings from the whole Melbourne Made design community and we are only just a tiny bit jealous about the new life she will be forging in LAOS, send us a postcard Chris!!
